It’s Holy Week!

How has your Lent journey been this year?  Don’t depart from your Lent journey too soon this week.

This Friday evening at church we will be having a Tenebrae service.  I have found this service to be a meaningful part of my Lent journey the past several years.  I want to encourage you to be a part of our Tenebrae service at Marion on Friday evening.  Details are in the weekly news.

Sunday is Easter.  Sunday is the time to worship.  Sunday is the time to celebrate.

Here are the Easter scriptures we are invited to reflect on…

Psalm 118:1–2, 14–24; Colossians 3:1–4; Acts 10:34–43; Matthew 28:1–10

When you think about the first Easter, no one realized it was going to be the first Easter.  That very first Easter, as Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were walking to the tomb… were they having a conversation, were they trying to comfort each other, or were they walking in deafening silence?

Do you think about how difficult it would have been for the disciples to believe the words of the Mary’s?

Each Easter is different, but each year brings its challenges.

Do you remember how different Easter was during the pandemic?

Jesus’ Easter message to the Mary’s was basic and straightforward. “Greetings! Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers and sisters to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

Where do we see Jesus today?

Come and celebrate with us at Marion, this Easter Sunday!

During the Sunday school hour will be a time of several stations that children and their families can experience the Easter story in various ways.  If that is too much interaction for you, come and enjoy some delicious breakfast breads, coffee, and conversations.

Alleluia! Christ is risen!
