This email is typically when we look toward the coming Sunday and begin to think about our time together.  With that being the case, I would like to recap the invitation that arose from our teaching on the life of Sarah…

1.            In what ways can you model being a gentle and quiet spirit.

2.            In what ways can you practice patience and wait on God’s timing?

3.            Can you ask for forgiveness in a relationship where you were not kind and understanding?

This week we will be looking at the life of Hagar.  Last week I said that Sara was flawed but faithful.  This week, I think would say that Hagar is in the middle of a mess.

We are introduced to Hagar in Genesis 16.  Hagar reappears fourteen years later in Genesis 21.  If you have time this week, I invite you to read the story of Hagar.  Her story can be found in Genesis 16:1-16 and Genesis 21:8-21.

There is a lot going on in Hagar’s story!

What stands out to you in Hagar’s story?

What surprises you in Hagar’s story?

Sara never called Hagar by name, but God used Hagar’s name.

Hagar gave God a name too.

What does all this mean?

What questions do you bring to this story?

Let’s talk about it on Sunday.
