This Sunday we will be finishing up our series on Rediscovering our Awe.

Our focus this Sunday will be Jesus;  Awe yeah… Jesus!

The scriptures we will be looking at are…

John 3:16-17           New Revised Standard Version16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. 17 “Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

God shows love for all people by sending Jesus to be the one to reestablish an ongoing relationship.

Hebrews 10:10-14            New Revised Standard Version10 And it is by God’s will that we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest stands day after day at his service, offering again and again the same sacrifices that can never take away sins.  12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, “he sat down at the right hand of God,”  13 and since then has been waiting “until his enemies would be made a footstool for his feet.”  14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.

The writer of Hebrews states that we are sanctified through Jesus’ death.  Those who are sanctified are being perfected by Jesus.  Perfected?

1 John 3:16-17                   New Revised Standard Version16 We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us—and we ought to lay down our lives for one another.  17 How does God’s love abide in anyone who has the world’s goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?

As God’s love abides in us, what does that mean for how we should be living our lives?

Let’s talk about it on Sunday.
