This Sunday as we continue with the Sermon on the Mount, we will be looking at Matthew 5:13-16…

Matthew 5:13-16  New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition

13 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything but is thrown out and trampled under foot.

14 “You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. 15 People do not light a lamp and put it under the bushel basket; rather, they put it on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

Why do you think Jesus is using the examples of salt and light?

When we looked at the Beatitudes, Jesus was talking about our character as followers of Jesus.   Our passage this week Jesus is talking about our behavior.

Is Jesus asking us to be an example to others?

In what ways should we be living differently than the culture around us?

In what ways should the church be influencing society?

Why should society listen to the church?

Let’s talk about it on Sunday.

Here’s some Lauren Daigle for you this week…

Here is a fun video for the younger ones, or at least the young at heart…
