This Sunday we will continue our series on Deeper Engagement as we will focus on bible saturation.
What are you passionate about?
What gets you excited?
Is it football?  Is it a good book?  Is it hard for you to wait for the next superhero movie?
It is fun to talk with people about a subject that they are passionate about.
Are we excited about our relationship with God?
I mean really excited about God.
Do we get more excited about going to your favorite restaurant, or listening to your favorite music artist, or taking that dream vacation than we do about our relationship with God?
What causes us to become distracted?
What can we do to tend that relationship we have with God?
I invite you to mediate on these two scriptures this week.

Colossians 3:16-17     New Century Version
16 Let the teaching of Christ live in you richly. Use all wisdom to teach and instruct each other by singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 Everything you do or say should be done to obey Jesus your Lord. And in all you do, give thanks to God the Father through Jesus.

Matthew 6:19-21        NRSV
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Is God our treasure?
How can a deeper engagement of the bible help deepen our relationship with God?
Let’s talk about it on Sunday.

Since Colossians is one of our passages, here is a short video talking about the Colossians effect…
