February 8, 2026 – “Community Living….Contentment”

by Dustin Dawe | Feb 3, 2026 | I'm Engaged, Towards Sunday

The Bible is full of stories of people seeking contentment.  Scriptures on contentment are aplenty and there are examples of men and women who find contentment in a relationship with God.  Which ones come to mind? The psalmists and Paul had a lot to say...

February 1, 2026 – “Community Living… Forgiveness and Reconciliation”

by Dustin Dawe | Jan 27, 2026 | I'm Engaged, Towards Sunday

Happy Tuesday Marion Church Family, This week as we continue our series on community and we will be taking a look at forgiveness and reconciliation.  It is important to recognize that forgiveness and reconciliation are not the same.  They’re related, they’re...

January 25, 2026 – “Community…Committed to the Truth in Love”

by Dustin Dawe | Jan 20, 2026 | I'm Engaged, Towards Sunday

A collection of the thoughts running through my mind early this week.   This past Saturday at the Marion men’s breakfast, while we sat around the table eating a delicious breakfast prepared by Uncle Leonard and Mahlon, Mahlon asked a question… “If Jesus were...

January 18, 2026 – “Community, In or Out?”

by Dustin Dawe | Jan 13, 2026 | I'm Engaged, Towards Sunday

This week as we continue looking at community, I have questions… Are we committed to community? Do we think our church family as having an inward focus?  Making disciples is the focus.  We strive to make our Sunday morning time cozy and comfortable.  We...

January 11, 2026 – “Our God is All About Community”

by Dustin Dawe | Jan 6, 2026 | I'm Engaged, Towards Sunday

This Sunday we will begin a new series on community.  The series will run for six weeks until Lent starts.  The idea of a series on community came to me after the ministry team and church board had a retreat in the fall.  It seems like folks at Marion...

January 4, 2026 – Epiphany, “Be Amazed: Come and See”

by Dustin Dawe | Dec 30, 2025 | I'm Engaged, Towards Sunday

2026 is coming! Do you have any New Year’s Eve or New Year’s celebrations?  Do you make New Year’s resolutions?  Is January 1 an opportunity for a fresh start, to break a bad habit or start a good habit? My mom and dad always ate pork and sauerkraut on New...

🎉 Wow!! What a week! 🎉While the weather may have changed our plans for Community Fun Night, it certainly didn’t dampen the fun!Although we had to forgo the bounce house and the much-anticipated dunk tank, we still enjoyed a wonderful evening together. A special thank you to Antietam Dairy for joining us and serving delicious ice cream to our community! 🍦The face painting was a hit, and it was a joy to watch children spending time outdoors, using their imaginations, making friends, and simply being kids.Throughout the week, our VBS families also raised money for Mercy Ships, an organization close to our hearts through our own Tasha Lentz, who volunteers with their ministry. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our children, families, and church community, we raised over $500 for Mercy Ships and counting! ❤️Because of their amazing efforts, Pastor Dustin had to keep his promise! 😆 The kids were thrilled to shave his head and beard, and the best part? He’s keeping the new look through Sunday… including for his driver’s license photo tomorrow! 🚗✂️As we wrap up this week, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to Lisa Tissue for the countless hours, dedication, and love she pours into making VBS such a special experience year after year. We are also incredibly thankful for our worship team, skit participants, station leaders, snack volunteers, motion leaders, group leaders, tech booth crew, and every volunteer who helped make this week possible. Most importantly, thank you to the parents who entrusted us with your children and to the kids who filled our church with laughter, energy, excitement, and generous hearts all week long.God has blessed us with an amazing church family, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you. ❤️ ...
