by Dustin Dawe | Mar 17, 2026 | I'm Engaged, Towards Sunday

Where is the dissonance in your life? Is it in family dynamics? Is it in workplace relationships? Is it in our political system? Is it in current world events? Is there any in your spiritual journey? We can experience plenty of dissonance in our scripture for this...

March 15, 2026 – Lent 4 – “Dwelling in Dissonance…Submission and Power”

by Dustin Dawe | Mar 10, 2026 | I'm Engaged, Towards Sunday

Do you like to watch movies?  Sometimes the best parts of a movie are the iconic quotes that make it into our everyday conversations.  Here are a few of my favorite movie quotes, I wonder if you recognize what movie they came from…...

March 8, 2026 – “Lent 3: Dwelling in Dissonance…Standing Up and Standing Back”

by Dustin Dawe | Mar 3, 2026 | I'm Engaged, Towards Sunday

This Sunday marks the half-way point of our Lent journey.  How is your Lent journey going? Have you felt any dissonance? What is making you uncomfortable these days? In this week’s scripture, we read about Jesus’ arrest and Peter’s denials (John 18:12-27). ...

March 1, 2026 – Lent 2 – “Dwelling in Dissonance…Obvious and Hidden”

by Dustin Dawe | Feb 24, 2026 | I'm Engaged, Towards Sunday

This week as we continue our observance of Lent, we find ourselves in John chapter 13.  Ms. Jackie introduced this story to our children last week.  Did you catch the look on the children’s faces when Ms. Jackie asked who wanted to have their feet...

February 22, 2026 – Lent 1 – “Dwelling in Dissonance…Love and Grief, Glory and Belief”

by Dustin Dawe | Feb 17, 2026 | I'm Engaged, Towards Sunday

Lent begins this week, are you ready? Did you grow up observing Lent? Anabaptists have an interesting connection with Lent.  Historically, Anabaptists may have been reluctant to participate in Lent.  Maybe because whilethis practice appears to have...

🎉 Wow!! What a week! 🎉While the weather may have changed our plans for Community Fun Night, it certainly didn’t dampen the fun!Although we had to forgo the bounce house and the much-anticipated dunk tank, we still enjoyed a wonderful evening together. A special thank you to Antietam Dairy for joining us and serving delicious ice cream to our community! 🍦The face painting was a hit, and it was a joy to watch children spending time outdoors, using their imaginations, making friends, and simply being kids.Throughout the week, our VBS families also raised money for Mercy Ships, an organization close to our hearts through our own Tasha Lentz, who volunteers with their ministry. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our children, families, and church community, we raised over $500 for Mercy Ships and counting! ❤️Because of their amazing efforts, Pastor Dustin had to keep his promise! 😆 The kids were thrilled to shave his head and beard, and the best part? He’s keeping the new look through Sunday… including for his driver’s license photo tomorrow! 🚗✂️As we wrap up this week, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to Lisa Tissue for the countless hours, dedication, and love she pours into making VBS such a special experience year after year. We are also incredibly thankful for our worship team, skit participants, station leaders, snack volunteers, motion leaders, group leaders, tech booth crew, and every volunteer who helped make this week possible. Most importantly, thank you to the parents who entrusted us with your children and to the kids who filled our church with laughter, energy, excitement, and generous hearts all week long.God has blessed us with an amazing church family, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you. ❤️ ...
