I asked a question last Sunday during our time together and we looked at the Spiritual Practice of Confession.  I asked if you believed that God really desires what is best for you.

I think that question applies again this week as we look at the Spiritual Practice of Guidance.  As we are invited to journey more closely with God, the practice of guidance is a process that acquaintanceship with God gives way to friendship with God which gives way to adoration of God.

While pursuing personal guidance is important and beneficial, Foster lists this practice under the Corporate Disciplines.

What does this mean to us as individuals?

What does this mean to us as a church family?

What did Paul have to say about God’s Guidance to the church at Corinth… 1 Corinthians 2:1-16…?

Could it be that unless we come to the point in life where God is our primary desire, we will never be open enough to receive God’s guidance and direction.

Do we really believe that God desires what is best for us, or do we see God as a grumpy cosmic being who is looking for a chance to force us into a life that we would never choose for ourself.

Let’s talk about it on Sunday as we practice seeking God’s Guidance.
