For the past several years, Marion has held a weekend festival for the community. As a part of this weekend celebration, the four Marion churches all get together under the tent at Marion First United Methodist Church (94 Colorado Street) to worship and have some fellowship. The service will start at 9:30am and you are asked to bring a lawn chair as we will be outdoors under the big white tent. Our own Mark Hartman will be helping to lead worship, and you may see some other familiar faces helping to lead us in worship. If you want a little insight on the message, you can sit with John 17:20-23 (Common English Bible)
20 “I’m not praying only for them but also for those who believe in me because of their word. 21 I pray they will be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. I pray that they also will be in us, so that the world will believe that you sent me. 22 I’ve given them the glory that you gave me so that they can be one just as we are one. 23 I’m in them and you are in me so that they will be made perfectly one. Then the world will know that you sent me and that you have loved them just as you loved me.After the service, everyone is invited for a fellowship meal. The lunch will be held indoors, and you are invited to bring a dish to share and chicken will be provided. This will replace our Sunday school and church this Sunday at Marion Mennonite. We hope everyone can come out and worship with others from our community. If you have any questions, please reach out to Joyce or Dustin. See ya on Sunday under the big white tent in “downtown” Marion.
