This week as we continue our series on Spiritual Practices, and we will be looking at the Spiritual Practice of Submission.

It seems like submission can be one of those words that trigger some emotion in us.  Is it because we have experienced unhealthy examples and teaching of submission?

What does submission mean to you?

I invite you to look at the following scriptures, maybe one each day…

Psalm 40:6-9

Micah 6:6-8

Matthew 16: 21-28

John 14:15-21

Ephesians 5:15-21

Philippians 2:1-8

As you look at these scriptures ask yourself these questions…

1.            What does this passage teach me about Submission

2.            Is Submission difficult for me?

3.            Who do I know that practices submission well?

4.            What are the obstacles preventing me from practicing submission?

Andy Stanley (pastor in Atlanta and Charles Stanley’s son) said… “Divine direction begins with unconditional submission.”

What do you think about that quote?

Let’s talk about it on Sunday.
